Pieces of Reese's family! Reese Witherspoon shared a rare photo with her big brother John Witherspoon on Monday, Nov. 17.

"Love seeing my brother," the Oscar winner, 38, wrote on Instagram. "He shares my love for doughnuts and that's how I know we are related."

In the pic, the Witherspoon siblings are tucked away inside a restaurant, protected from rain-soaked streets outdoors. Reese looks cozy in a flannel shirt and flashes her trademark grin as she holds up a coffee mug that reads "Nashville."

Her bearded big brother, meanwhile, beams as he leans over to take the photo with his baby sister. There is a slight resemblance between the duo, including their dimpled left cheeks.

Both Witherspoon children were born in Louisiana and raised in Nashville. The Sweet Home Alabama star even named her youngest child Tennessee after her home state.

Reese gave some insight on her southern values and childhood while speaking to Reader's Digest back in 2009. "I grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, and my parents taught me to respect my elders," she confessed. "We’d say things like 'yes, ma’am' and 'no, sir' to adults. But kids in Los Angeles don’t do that. I’ve drawn the line at my children calling adults by their first names. I tell them they can call people 'Miss Shannon' or 'Miss Heather' but that using only the first name is too familiar. Maybe I’m just old-fashioned. Children should learn their values at home. In sixth grade, I took a manners class once a week. We learned things like 'What’s the right way to answer the telephone?' My kids set the table every night, and we eat dinner as a family."

To stay in touch with her roots, Witherspoon told the mag that she returns back to her hometown with her kids (Ava, 15, Deacon, 11, and Tennessee, 2) several times a year. "They’re crazy about the trees and the food," she said in her 2009 interview. "A creek runs through our neighborhood, and they love to walk up and down it — just like I used to do with my brother."
