Rep: Halle Berry, Gabriel Aubry "Split Some Time Ago"

On Sunday, a rep for Halle Berry confirmed her breakup with Gabriel Aubry -- and it turns out that the couple called it quits a while back.
"Berry and Aubry split some time ago," her rep tells UsMagazine.com, "but remain close friends and committed parents to their daughter."
Berry, 43, and Aubry, 34, met at a 2006 Versace photo shoot. Their daughter Nahla was born in March 2008.

Aubry first acknowledged the split in a statement early Saturday. "[Halle] is, and will forever be one of the most special and beautiful people that I have ever known, and I am certain that we will continue to love and respect for one another," he said.

Out and about in New York City over the weekend, single Berry seemed cheerful: she told Us at a Thursday charity event that Nahla was "fantastic"; on Friday, she saw pal Denzel Washington perform in Broadway's Fences; on Saturday, she cheered on thousands of walkers in Times Square for the EIF's Revlon Run/Walk for Women event for breast cancer, and then indulged in a cheeseburger over a leisurely lunch at eatery Rue 57 with a gal pal.

"She was in good spirits," an observer told Us of the meal.
Married and divorced twice before Aubry (they never wed), Berry gushed in the March 2009 issue of Essence: "I feel more married now than I did in any of my actual marriages..We live the truth of that and that's more important than a piece of paper ."

Halle appears to fall for men who are projects. Perhaps she needs to revaluate why she keeps repeating this unhealthy pattern. I wonder why she keeps settling? Does she not realize that she deserves better?
Well, Well, Well: Marriage is not the answer nor the reason the relationship failed. Had they been married then u have to go through hell to get divorced. Halle way better looking at 43 than his 34. Let's face it: Some men can't handle being Mr. Halle Berry. Hope for the best for you & Nahla.

He should have left her a long time ago, she is a nut case and the way she embarrassed him tongue kissing Jamie Foxx and grabbing his profits. She makes more money than him, SO what he only paid the cable bill. She is worth millions, love is more important than the money since she has it, it's not like she doesn't have it.
He too good looking for her . Besides at her age the aging really picks up and shows. He needs a 20 something yr. old. He works around much more beautiful women.

Halle I pray you will put your daughter as your #1 priority and give the "pretty men" a break. You come across a bit superficial, relax and make better movies and be a good mother. The right good man will find you.
It is so hard to keep a relationship together for everyday people. I can only imagine how hard it must be for high-profile celebs. Oh Well Halle and Gabriel you were blessed with a beautiful daughter and that's forever. The Best to you both.
Look at all the jealous women posting! Halle is THE most gorgeous woman in Hollywood and looks a good 15-18 years younger than she is. Someone actually said she is older than she claims. LOL That was one comment that screamed jealousy and made me laugh my behind off. Get over it- she is rich and doesn't need a man with money and could have anyone she wanted. Kills some of you doesn't it? He was never attractive enough for her, model or not.
Not surprised that Halle & Gabriel split, she cannot seem to stay in a relationship for very long. This wasn't going to be long-term or a marriage in the end. I don't agree with the age difference. She's been married twice before, it takes two to make a marriage work, obviously she is hard to deal with.

Halle Berry deserves NO sympathy. She kicked him out because he wasn't pulling his weight. Excuse me, the economy stinks. Maybe if he can't find work, he could watch their daughter while she worked. NO WONDER she's not having a difficult time with the breakup - she's already been out dating other men. I guess men and dating are more important to Halle than her daughter.
So marriage can guarantee that a relationship will work?? Marriage isn't worth the hassle.
Sorry to say, but I hear she's older than she admits to and she's at least ten or more years older than he is. I know it works for a very small minority long-term, but for most, no, never. I thought she was exercising foolishness having a child with someone so much younger than her. Grow up Halle, he was never going to work. Take the word "work" any way you like. I know it's unlikely she will find long lasting love with someone who makes the kind of money she makes on one movie (or used to make, haven't seen her on anything worthwhile recently) so maybe she needs to set her standards lower, or meet someone who is at the same age and maturity level, and financial level, since that seems important to her. Every female star wants to think they are 18. And go after anything that's pretty. Too bad it looks so bad later. Grow up, Halle, and I hope you do look after your daughter. (Something tells me she will be on drugs and alcohol before she's l2).
