Rep: Mel Gibson Isn't Leaving the U.S.

As detectives launch a domestic violence investigation against Mel Gibson, the actor's rep wants fans to know that the troubled star, 54, has no plans to flee the country.
Over the weekend, reports swirled that Gisbon -- now engaged in an ugly custody war with ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva -- is heading to Australia, where he and his family moved when he was 12.

But his rep says "there’s no truth" to those reports.
Gibson is focusing on work, his rep says.
His rep confirms that the actor resumed shooting the Jodie Foster-directed comedy The Beaver in NYC "two weeks ago," after the July 1 release of his first expletive-ridden leaked tape and after he was dropped by his talent agency, William Morris Endeavor.

On Friday, a shot of a roughed-up Grigorieva, 40, hit the web. The photo was allegedly snapped after she got into a January fight with Gibson.
Despite rumors that Grigorieva may have doctored the photo, her rep says the disturbing pic is "true and accurate."

The recordings are fake and edited. Oksana's dental injuries are the result of her falling and not a hit from someone else. Oksana is an aging 40 year old untalented wh*** who can not earn a living on her own two feet but must rely upon any illegitimate children to provide money from their alleged fathers.

@Brett so all of the actors, actreses, directors, producers, costume designers, extras etc.. of this new film he is currently filming are hate mongers and abusive? That is a stretch.. Get a grip on reality the photo is FAKE and the tapes are EDITED and make her look INNOCENT when she said anything she could think of to push his buttons and make him blow his temper like that. She did in fact SET HIM UP after he refused to give her 10 mil! She got a nice payday for leaking these tapes and for this FAKE picture! She is not stupid by any means. She was WAY to calm on the tapes and had PLANNED what she was going to do to him. I'm not even sure IF the tapes are even him. Authorities have NOT proven it was him and last I read the tapes were said to have been EDITED and PIECED TOGETHER.

The picture was not of "abuse" by Mel! It is NOT possible he broke her teeth like that with out leaving bruises, swelling and bleeding gums and lips! OPEN your eyes people! No matter what the tapes claim (we aren't positive it was even him they to could be as fake as that picture is) you can look at that picture and know for a FACT he did NOT break her teeth! It is just NOT POSSIBLE to do that kind of damage and not cause facial bruising, swelling, busted lips etc..
As to whether the woman leaked the tapes herself or it was done by others, who cares? Doesn't matter. Gibson's screeching, rage-filled, expletive and racial epithet-filled rants tell us everything we need to know about this man and none of it good. His horrific comments and behavior stand on their own, no matter what part the woman played in all this.

@lynn Yes and no. Under normal circumstances, it would be illegal to tape conversations. However, in cases where there are extenuating circumstances, such as possible commission of a crime, domestic abuse, child abuse, threats of violence,etc., especially when there was already a restraining order in place, these types of communication are not protected. Gibson's only possible way out of this is if the Court rules the tapes were made with the intention of goading and entraping him. This can only be determined when authorities have access to the full, uncut, unedited recordings. I wouldn't count on that too much, if I were Gibson, however. In this case, given the content, edited or not, trying to prove entrapment is probably a very thin defense.
