Rewind Con Fails to Pay ’90s Actors for Appearances

Kelly Taylor would be mad! Some ’90s actors are still waiting to be paid for making an appearance at Rewind Con in Bloomingdale, Illinois, last month, Us Weekly can reveal.

Stars like Tori Spelling, Jennie Garth, Jason Priestley and Luke Perry were told that they would receive paychecks in the mail following the ’80s and ’90s-themed convention, which was held at Hilton Indian Lakes Resort from November 11 to 13. But instead, Rewind Con cofounder Jaymie Lashaway reached out to say that she was filing for chapter 7 bankruptcy.

A source tells Us that the actors found out about the situation on Sunday, November 13. “The Rewind Con checks to the Melrose Place and 90210 cast members bounced,” the insider says.

In an email, Lashaway claimed that troubles began when one of her investors backed out. “I am truly sorry,” she wrote. “To see something we worked so hard for end up this way and so many of you that I’ve the utmost respect for carry such hatred for me is absolutely devastating. I am sorry.”

General Hospital alums and ‘NSync singer Joey Fatone were among the celebs that took part in the event. Priestley and Perry reportedly were given money, but Fatone reportedly hasn’t received a dime yet.

Fans weren’t too thrilled either and have been sharing their experiences on the Facebook group Rate that Comic Con. An attendee tells Us that the function was completely disorganized, events ran late, the location was hard to access, Post-its marked the VIP section, people paid hundreds of dollars for an exclusive 90210 panel that ended up being live-streamed and there was only one printer for celeb photo ops, which kept breaking.

Nevertheless, some fans did get to sit in for the 90210 panel — which was located in a basement. The attendee tells Us that Perry received a loud round of applause when he said that his favorite TV couple was his character Dylan and Brenda, who was played by Shannen Doherty. Doherty is currently undergoing radiation treatment for breast cancer and was unable to join her former costars.

“None of us are up here today without Shannen. She’s been through a lot. She’s not doing so well right now, but sometimes her contributions are minimized,” he said. “She’s a very big part of the success of the show. She taught me a lot. I’m glad she was my scene partner. She was great at what she did In the character with me.”
