Rob Kardashian is in a sharing mood. The formerly reclusive reality star, who is expecting his first child with fiancée Blac Chyna, opened up about his complicated relationship with the model, 28, and his famous family during an interview with On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Thursday, September 8.
"I couldn't really say anything. I couldn't really feel comfortable about talking to any of my family members obviously about the situation," Kardashian, who spent years battling weight gain and depression, explained to Seacrest, who produces his upcoming reality show, Rob & Chyna. "It was very, very complicated, but my happiness outweighed everything, honestly, at that point in my life. She was making me feel very comfortable. I didn't feel judged in her home, I was on my health trip, and I just felt very good."
The Arthur George sock creator, 29, added that he “needed an outsider” to get him out of his funk.
“Chyna helped me through my rough time when I was uncomfortable in my skin and just trying to get over that uncomfortable feeling. She really helped me get past … being judged,” Kardashian explained.
And Chyna knew how to handle the situation. The makeup artist explained to Seacrest that she never asked Kardashian what was wrong.
“I felt like if I would have done that to Rob, he would have pushed me away,” the pregnant reality star said. “If he had any problems, I would just let him come to me, versus me asking him like, 'Yo, what's the problem?' We just kind of kicked it and talked about everything, and just life, and goals, and future things that we both wanted to do. It just came about."
Fast-forward to present day and the couple are about to air their whirlwind romance on TV.
"Obviously, stuff is happening pretty fast, and you'll see all that on the show and everything," Kardashian said of their upcoming docuseries. "There's definitely a lot of good things going on, a lot of learning each other still. It's a lot."
Kardashian also acknowledged how “crazy” their relationship must seem, considering his sister Kylie Jenner is dating Chyna’s ex-fiancé, Tyga.
"It's very complicated,” the reality personality admitted. “People probably think we did something out of spite or something like that, some crazy negative stuff, which never in a million years [would I] have a child out of spite. Everything just happened."
From the get-go though, Kardashian knew he wanted kids with Chyna.
"I'm just so attracted to how she raises her son, King. That's what attracted me to her initially,” he said of Chyna and her 3-year-old son with Tyga. “She was just a great mom … and [that] led me to want to start a family with Chyna. It's something I've always wanted to do."
