No bad blood here! Katy Perry’s exes had nothing but love for the singer after she nailed her Super Bowl XLIX halftime performance. The “Dark Horse” singer, who rocked out with Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliott for the epic show on Sunday, Feb. 1, got sweet messages from both her ex-husband Russell Brand and her former fling Diplo.
“Super Bowl may be baffling to Brits but half time show will be amazing. Good luck KP,” Brand tweeted ahead of her stellar performance.
“@Katyperry murdered it,” Diplo, Perry’s most recent ex, shared via app PHHHOTO, along with a snap from her performance.
Perry and Brand divorced in 2012 after 14 months of marriage. Following their split, the songstress admitted she hit rock bottom. “There were two weeks of my life after I found out the truth of my marriage where I was like, ‘Okay. All right. I can’t feel this. This is too intense right now,'” Perry told Marie Claire in December 2013. “I was, like, just eating Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and drinking, and that’s it.”
“I asked myself, ‘Do I want to endure? Should I continue living?'” she also told Billboard magazine, admitting she contemplated suicide.
The “Firework” singer then moved on with John Mayer and Diplo, whom she most recently split with.
As for Perry’s frenemy Taylor Swift? The “Shake It Off” singer has yet to comment on her performance.
The halftime superstar wasn’t the only Super Bowl XLIX performer to get love from an ex though.
Idina Menzel, who sang the National Anthem, got a sweet tweet from her ex-husband Taye Diggs. “Yup. Baby mama crushed it at the Super Bowl,” he tweeted, along with a photo of their 5-year-old son Walker watching her performance.
