Life goes on! Ryan Adams walked his first red carpet since announcing his split from wife Mandy Moore at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards in L.A. on Sunday, Feb. 8.
The indie musician, as he often does, mainly kept to himself and shied away from reporters. He wore a graphic T-shirt, a jean jacket, light pink-framed sunglasses, and was spotted no longer wearing his wedding band.
Inside the Staples Center, Adams sat next to longtime friend Jenny Lewis. Adams was up for Best Rock Album for his 13th self-titled album, but lost out to Beck’s Morning Phase. (Moore’s vocals are featured on Adams’ song “Gimme Something Good.”)
Us Weekly confirmed late last month that Adams, 40, and Moore, 30, had split after nearly six years of marriage. The teen pop star-turned-actress, however, was “totally shocked” by how Adams handled the breakup. Moore filed for divorce first, but Adams filed for a dissolution of their marriage on Jan. 23. He listed their separation as Aug. 4, 2014.
“They specifically discussed her filing. He was desperately trying to make it work up until the days before he filed,” an insider told Us. His actions are “coming from there being no prenup and is financially motivated.”
Adams and the Red Band Society actress secretly married in March 2009. Last year, they celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary with close friends.
