Celebrating in style! Sam Champion and his husband Rubem Robierb hit Rio de Janeiro this past weekend to ring in the New Year on the beaches of Brazil.
The Weather Channel news anchor, 53, and his photographer love stripped down to say goodbye to 2014, soaking up the Brazilian sun in matching swimsuits. The two fit men both opted for skimpy white Speedo-style swimming bottoms with blue accents, taking a dip together on Saturday, Jan. 3, in their coordinating suits.
The happy couple toasted to 2015 on Wednesday, Dec. 31, both donning all-white outfits to sip champagne and watch the fireworks in Rio on New Year’s Eve. Surrounded by friends and fellow revelers, Champion and Robierb grinned as they celebrated the new beginning.
While Champion took a break from social media in his time away from work, his hubby shared photos from the trip on Twitter and Instagram. The artist posted shots of the local landscape, as well as sweet shots with his man, writing “Party #fun #greatparty #iloverio” on a photo of the pair at a bash, and “HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!” on a celebratory New Year’s Eve shot.
This is the third New Year’s Eve that Champion and Robierb have shared as a married couple. The holiday holds special importance to the pair, as they first met at a New Year’s Eve party and went on to hold a wedding party in Miami on Dec. 31, 2012. The lovebirds officially tied the knot in New York City on Dec. 21, 2012.
