Sandra Bullock has donated $1 million toward Haitian earthquake relief.

Her contribution went to Doctors Without Borders' emergency operations in Port-Au-Prince, where three of the organization's existing facilities were damaged Tuesday by a 7.0 quake.

"I wanted to ensure that my donation would be used immediately to meet the needs of the Haitian people affected by this catastrophic event," she said Friday in a statement.

The international Red Cross estimates 45,000 to 50,000 people were killed in the quake.

Hollywood paid tribute to victims Friday at the 15th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards.

Said Kevin Bacon: "I work with sixdegrees.org, and within 24 hours, we had on our homepage a direct link to a whole series of charities that are dealing with Haitian relief. People have really stepped up – especially during these tough economic times."
