Taking to Instagram in the early hours of Thursday, February 25, the mom-of-two shared a throwback photograph of herself when she first played the role of the conniving villain, paired with a recent one of herself about to film the remake.

“#throwbackthursday (a bit early in Los Angeles) this picture was taken on the eve of production on the original #cruelintentions,” she captioned the photographs. “Its me #rogerkumble (director) and #nealmoritz (exec producer) and the other is a picture of us now on the eve of production on the new #cruelintentions. That’s right ‘everybody loves me, and I intend to keep it that way’ #kathrynmerteuil is back!!! I am happy to say that I will be joining them (and @nbctv ) on the new #Crueltv,” she added.

Gellar was joined by Reese Witherspoon and ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, along with actress Selma Blair, for the original movie which was an adaptation of the classic French novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the new TV pilot picks up 15 years after the movie left off, and centers around Phillippe and Witherspoon’s teenage son.

Gellar reunited with Blair and Witherspoon last year to give their support to the parody performance of Cruel Intentions: The Completely Unauthorized Musical – and the girly trio had an absolute blast.

“I think it’s awesome. I think there are so many great stories to tell,” Gellar, 38, told Us. “Jordan [Ross] and Lindsey [Rosin] did a great job with the Cruel Intentions musical — it was phenomenal. Roger Kumble [who wrote and directed the film] is at the helm, and anything Roger does is great. And they are great characters, so why shouldn’t their story be told?”
