Silverman took the stage with senator Al Franken to introduce performer Paul Simon, and after recalling her earlier support for former Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders, Silverman declared that she’s now with Clinton.

“I’m Sarah Silverman and I have been feeling the Bern. Relax, I put some cream on it,” Silverman joked to the audience at the Wells Fargo Center. “As some of you know, I support Bernie Sanders and the movement behind him. And Bernie has already succeeded in so many ways. … Not only did Bernie wake us up, he made us understand what is possible and what we deserve.”

“Hillary heard the passion of the people, the people behind Bernie and brought those passions into the party’s platform, and that is the process of democracy at its very best,” the funny woman, 45, continued. “And it is very cool to see. Hillary is our democratic nominee and I will probably vote for her.”

After declaring that she’s “with her,” the crowd started to chant “Bernie! Bernie!” to which Silverman responded: “The Bernie — can I just say — to the Bernie or bust people, you’re being ridiculous.”

Some in the audience then started cheering, and while others chanted “Hillary! Hillary!” there were also people who didn’t agree, crying “Bernie! Bernie! Bernie!”

“Brava @SarahKSilverman! Comedians will save the world. #DNC,” Joy Behar tweeted at the comedian, while E! News host Catt Sadler added: “Thank you @SarahKSilverman for being brave, illuminating, and clever. Representing so beautifully. #DNCinPHL.”

“Finally someone straight up said it #sarahsilverman #DemsInPhilly,” another Twitter user added.

Others, however, didn’t react to her comment with such praise.

“Sarah Silverman helps get berners to hate Hillary and then says WE are being ridiculous,” another shared on Twitter. “We’ll remember this. Have fun losing the general.”

Sanders was booed himself earlier in the day after he urged his supporters to vote for Clinton, prior to the DNC kicking off Monday afternoon.
