Oh, bébé! As everyone now knows, Scarlett Johansson is on the road to motherhood, expecting her first child with her French fiance, Romain Dauriac, later this year.

Living abroad in Paris, the couple has been able to have their romance unfold with a little more privacy than some of her peers. And — seeing as Romain is a manager of a creative agency (and former journalist), not a movie star — it's certainly been less publicized than some of her previous headline-making relationships with Sean Penn, ex-husband Ryan Reynolds, Josh Hartnett, and Jared Leto.
So how did the 29-year-old bombshell and the Frenchman, who have been dating for a little over a year, end up prepping a nursery together? Let's take a look back at their road to romance…
December 2010: A few weeks after their separation is announced, Scarlett files for divorce from Ryan Reynolds after two years of marriage, putting her back onto Hollywood's most eligible bachelorette list. Soon after, the "Avengers" star embarks on a brief, but high-profile romance with Sean Penn, but — after attending a White House Correspondents' Dinner party together and a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico — they call things off by June.
July 2011: Scarlett's divorce from Ryan is official.
April 2012: Perhaps deciding that a non-famous fella was the way to go, the blonde starts dating NYC ad executive Nate Naylor. She tells Vogue that it "must be very strange" for him to date a movie star, saying, "It's an adjustment. … But he's remarkably good about it."
October 2012: ScarJo and Nate split. Soon after she is seen holding hands with her ex, Jared Leto, at the Democratic National Convention.
Nov. 15, 2012: About three weeks after ending things with Nate, Scarlett is photographed holding hands with Romain following a dinner date in her native New York City. "They were very lovey-dovey and holding hands under the table all night," a witness tells Page Six. And: "They were holding each other while outside smoking in the cold."
Nov. 19, 2012: With Romain in tow, she attends the premiere of "Hitchcock," but they don't pose for photos together. Parisian news site Pure People reports that they met through a mutual tattoo-artist pal, Fuzi Uvtpk, who is responsible for her new "Lucky You" horseshoe ink on her rib cage.
December 2012: In an interview with Elle U.K., she is asked if she will consider remarrying. "It's really not important to me," she replies. "The only time I ever think about it is when people ask me, 'Would I get married again?'"
Jan. 17, 2013: Scarlett celebrates the Broadway opening of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof." At the afterparty, Romain is by her side and the two kiss and dance all night, while hanging with her family and castmates.
May 2013: In an interview with Marie Claire, she calls Romain her boyfriend and talks about what she likes — and doesn't like — in a man. "I don't like jealous behavior. I don't mind an occasional check-in, but when somebody is passive-aggressively jealous, it's really unattractive because it shows a sort of insecurity… Oh, controlling behavior is awful."
August 2013: Romain proposes to Scarlett, giving her a vintage Art Deco style ring. They keep their engagement under wraps.
Sept. 3, 2013: She attends the Venice Film Festival with Romain and is seen wearing her ring. The engagement is confirmed.
December 2013: Babies are on her brain. "I would like to have my own family, that would be nice," she tells the Daily Mail. "They say it's never the right time and I am sure that's true, but I think you have to plan it like anything else." But when? "At some point it is something I look forward to," she teases.
Jan. 10, 2014: During an appearance on "Late Show With David Letterman," she says she "took the plunge and moved to Paris." Being closer to Romain is "Great. I love it" — though she admits it's taking a little adjustment settling in.
Jan. 15, 2014: She says her wedding to Romain is "far off" during an appearance on "Good Morning America." "I'm not doing any wedding planning."
Feb. 28, 2014: They make their official red carpet debut, posing together at the Cesar Film Awards in Paris.
March 3, 2014: News breaks that she's expecting. "The Insider With Yahoo" confirms the scoop with a source close to the actress. Reports indicate she may be as many as five months along.
Looks like the baby — and perhaps a wedding? — will be next.
