There will be some serious star power lighting up the Time Warner Cable Arena Thursday night.

Deadline reports that Scarlett Johansson and Kerry Washington are slated to address delegates at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC, beginning around 7 pm.

The Democratic party's speaker selection is intended to serve as a deliberate contrast to the Republican party's mystery guest, Clint Eastwood, whose rambling, improvised August 30 speech was widely derided.

Johansson, 27, and Washington, 35, will speak about issues affecting young people — primarily student loans and women's rights.

"It should be an elegant contrast to what Clint did last week," a source explained to Deadline.

Both Johansson and Washington both actively campaigned for President Obama prior to his 2008 election.

Desperate Housewives alum Eva Longoria is also scheduled to speak Thursday evening (Longoria, 37, serves as a national co-chair for Obama's reelection campaign), and CNN reported Wednesday Natalie Portman was on a list of last-minute speakers as well.

Longoria's primary objective for her address? "No empty chairs," the actress joked on TODAY.
