Carrie Underwood couldn't help but flash her huge engagement ring at the People's Choice Awards Wednesday.
The country crooner, 26, showed off the flawless yellow diamond -- worth about $150,000 -- as she walked the red carpet.

She told reporters that she worked with the ring's designer, jeweler Johnathon Arndt, before and that her fiance, hockey player Mike Fisher, picked up on that by seeing "all the little boxes in my room. He somehow managed to call him up and sneak around and make me a ring!"

How are wedding plans going?
"I bought a lot of magazines and am cutting out pictures," she told UsMagazine.com. "I have a folder and I cut out pictures and glue them in. It’s in kind of a binder thing."

She said she isn't sure who she wants to design her dress, but will probably go with "someone I’ve worked with before that I know I can work well with."
She said she wants something "pretty traditional, maybe with flowers on it -- not like real flowers!"

Though she is envisioning a small wedding, "I don't see that happening," the singer said. "There are so many people. He has a huge family; they’re all really close. My family is big, but we're not that tight-knit. His is about three times the size of mine."

am...I also went to NSU with Carrie and I have to agree...total B. We ran in the same circles and had tons of mutual friends. She was the kind of girl that was nice to you and then the next time you saw her she pretended like she had never met you before...probably because I wasn't a part of her sorority. I was never a fan of hers in college and can't say that I really am now. The best thing about her becoming famous is that she finally got some style.

Nikki, a K-mart ring may be more precious and fabulous than a 1 million dollar one, if it was given as a token and love and everlasting faithfulness. To show off an expensive engagement ring is plain superficiality to me. Too many women are nowadays interested in the material expression of someone's love. I like to think that I'm not one of them.

It is so funny how jealous people can be!! I am sure if I was sitting at home with a K-mart ring from the 80's I would definitely be jealous of a beautiful and talented person like Carrie. You people obviously had an interest in her to read the story in the first place. Personally I think the ring is beautiful, $150,000 really is not that much for a star to spend on a ring but it is just perfect. TO JAS: Carrie did not treat Taylor badly at all on the CMAs.....she thought Brad was done talking. She would never dis Taylor - they are friends. Carrie has discussed this and I wish those of you who have half of your facts would research better before posting comments on things you know nothing about. Carrie is a sweetheart and would never say anything to hurt another person.
