Beauty, brains and talent! Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s daughter, Apple, showed off her musical prowess at a school holiday concert on Friday, December 18, strumming away and singing just like her dad.
In a clip that proud mom Paltrow shared via Instagram, the 11-year-old can be seen expertly playing a guitar while singing a tune. She and her classmates all wear white robes and sit on what looks to be the steps of a stage.
“Best wishes and love to all for a happy holiday,” the Goop founder, 43, captioned the post, along with a tiny Christmas tree emoji.
Paltrow and her Coldplay frontman ex, 38, are also parents of son Moses, 9. The actress officially filed for divorce from Martin this April, one year after their conscious uncoupling.
“There was nothing dramatic or anything,” the Mortdecai actress told the February issue of Marie Claire. “I had built my life on trying to be all things to all people, and I just couldn’t do it anymore, and I really had the sense that I wasn’t allowed to have needs, and I had to prove my specialness or self-worth by doing all this stuff and taking care of everybody else, and I just sort of hit a wall.”
Martin, meanwhile, has blamed his own “issues” for the couple’s split (the pair married in 2003).
“I wouldn’t use the word breakdown,” he told BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe in April. “This was more a realization about trying to grow up, basically.… if you can’t open yourself up, you can’t appreciate the wonder inside. So you can be with someone very wonderful, but because of your own issues, you cannot let that be celebrated in the right way.”
