Childlike, not childish! Selena Gomez took some time off between shows for her ongoing Revival tour on Wednesday, June 1, by frolicking with kids in Brooklyn’s Marcy Projects playground.
In video footage exclusive to Us Weekly, the “Hands to Myself” singer, 23, donned a colorful blue-and-orange print summer dress and kicked off her shoes to splash around in the park’s fountains, smiling big as she ran barefoot across the concrete.
The neighborhood kids got a special treat later in the day when Gomez purchased snow cones for the kids, treating herself to one as well.
The singer shared several snapshots from her fun-filled afternoon via Instagram as well. In one, she looks on as two local kids devour their cold snacks, and in another, she looks like she’s practically floating as she prances through the water just behind a little girl.
That night, the former Disney star swapped up her casualwear for some seriously sexy outfits as she performed at Barclays Center, which is just a few subway stops away from the Marcy Projects (where Jay Z grew up).
“Brooklyn babies! Sorry I couldn’t get everyone in,” she captioned a photo of herself posing in front of fans the next day, on Thursday, June 2.
Gomez has had an emotional time on her tour since kicking it off in Las Vegas at the beginning of May.
At the Montreal stop of her tour, the songstress got all choked up performing her 2011 hit “Who Says” (off her album When the Sun Goes Down), and had to rely on her fans to carry the song through.
Gomez, who rocked a perfect messy braid and a sheer blouse, looked on in awe and wiped away her tears as she smiled out at the crowd.
