During a Thursday appearance on The Tonight Show, Selena Gomez, 18, told host Jay Leno that her baby-faced boyfriend recently earned her mother Mandy's seal of approval.

Bieber's family seems equally smitten with Gomez after they were introduced Memorial Day weekend. "They looked like one big happy family," an onlooker said of the couple's outing with Bieber's father, Jeremy, and his half-siblings, Jazmyn and Jaxon. "The kids took to Selena straight away and they were all laughing and joking around. They couldn't have been happier."

6We all get it she is two years older than Justin. Actually it is closer to 20 months, he being 17 since March 1st and she turning 19 not till July 23rd. It was her mom and Justin's manager who introduced them. Selena had just been dumped by Nick Jonas and Justin just arrived from Canada needed a friend. At the time he was 15 she was 17 and they hung out together, she was like a big sister. They performed at the same New Years Eve party in 2009 and in March 2010 they both performed at the Houston Rodeo. When Justin went on his 68 show NA tour in 2010 they didn't see each other that whole summer. When they finally met up in Philadelphia for breakfast, Justin was 4 inches taller his face had had a more mature square lines. Also Justin at 16 had a driver's licence Selena didn't yet so they started having little dates. Justin May only be 17 but he is mature enough to make $54 million last year. If you saw his movie you will see the people involved behind the scenes, Justin pays everyone of their mortgages. So you may think 17,a typical couch potato gamer but he has many responsibilities and is mature beyond his years.
do the math. they're 2 years apart, that's kinda the thing with 25/27 year old. Selena was born 1992 and Justin 1994.
He was a 16 year old underage boy when they got together. Not like a 25 year old and a 27 year old or whatever, 16 is a boy, she is a young woman. What age do "couples" start shaking up or laying down with each other, 12? A year from now, they will be done. Way to young a boy to know what love is.
I saw that interview. Selena was raised by a single mother who took jobs at coffee shops and diners just to make ends meet. If you know Justin's story he was raised much the same way by his single mom. They both are talented and don't interfere with each others career (cue Paul Newman's and Joanne Woodwards long relationship). They obviously like (love) each other. In a couple of years the age difference won't even be noticable so let them be.
I don't see what the big deal is with their age difference. They are both of high school age and act like teenagers in love (which they are). When I was in high school my boy friend and I took little vacations together, granted it wasn't Hawaii but it was still the same situation. Just because they are in the same room doesn't mean they are necessarily doing anything. Just let them be young and happy!
He JUST turned 17, and Mom doesn't mind you being with a boy..mmm well he has millions, and isn't doing pot or any drugs that we know of, has no past with women, so baby daddy to none. Has some good points going on here for her to approve of, however, he is a little young to be this involved with anybody.
