She’s not sorry! Serena Williams wouldn’t discuss her love life on the Friday, November 18, episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, but she did name the man of her dreams during a game of “Who’d You Rather.”
Asked to pick between Idris Elba and Justin Bieber, after choosing between Jake Gyllenhaal, Bruno Mars, Chance the Rapper and more, the tennis player enthusiastically picked the Canadian pop star, 22, over the ultrasexy Luther actor, 44.
“What do you mean?” the 35-year-old asked, making a perfect reference to Bieber’s Purpose song. She went on to choose Bieber over Prince Harry and Bradley Cooper, saying, “It’s always going to be Justin Bieber.” Quipped Ellen DeGeneres: “Justin Bieber is the guy. That’s him. That is a surprise to a lot of us.”
DeGeneres also questioned Williams about her real love life, but the Michigan native, who has most recently been linked to Reddit cofounder Alexis Ohanian and rapper Drake in 2015, decided not to reveal any details. “So there is no special person in your life right now?” Asked DeGeneres, who is married to Portia de Rossi.
“Well, I didn’t say that,” the 22-time Grand Slam winner answered. “There are a lot of special people in my life.”
Following Williams’ appearance on the show, DeGeneres tweeted: “Serena Williams may or may not have a boyfriend. That boyfriend may or may not be Justin Bieber.”
Earlier this year, Williams made her Belieber fandom public on Instagram. While in Melbourne, Australia, for the Australian Open in January, Williams shared her love for Bieber, who is 13 years her junior, by posting a video of herself singing along to “Sorry.”
