There in spirit! Shay Mitchell penned an emotional message to her Pretty Little Liars costar Troian Bellisario in honor of Bellisario’s wedding day on Saturday, December 10.
Mitchell, 29, who is currently filming the upcoming horror flick Cadaver, shared a sweet selfie of the pair in oversize shades, looking glam on a boat, to accompany her heartfelt note.
“To my big sister T on her wedding day,” Mitchell began the Instagram post. “I love that we were able to close one very important chapter of our lives together and I am devastated not to be there as you embark on your next one. As I sit here thinking about our friendship and journey I am reminded of how much I love, cherish and admire you.”
Bellisario, 31, exchanged vows with her love, Suits actor Patrick J. Adams, in a romantic, rustic wedding ceremony in Southern California on Saturday.
“I know you and Patrick will have the most special day and I can’t wait to celebrate you two as a married couple,” Mitchell continued. “Soak it all in and enjoy this moment … it’s all yours babe 👰🏻💕 #fortday2016inspirit.”
Though Mitchell was unable to attend the beachfront nuptials, the rest of the close-knit cast of Pretty Little Liars — including Lucy Hale, Ashley Benson, Sasha Pieterse, Ian Harding, Lulu Brud and Keegan Allen — was on hand to celebrate Bellisario’s big day.
As Us previously reported, Bellisario and Adams, 35, kicked off the three-day celebration with a small speech welcoming their 200 guests to a momentous occasion. “Thank you guys so much,” Adams said into a microphone outside the venue. “Have the greatest weekend; that’s all we want for this wedding. We’re so happy to have you. Let it begin!”
The newlyweds first met in 2009 while costarring in the play Equivocation, and got engaged in January 2014.
