So precious! Simon Cowell’s adorable son, Eric, crashed the reality TV judge’s Extra interview on Friday, Oct. 23, and it was all caught on camera.
The former American Idol judge, 56, was in the middle of discussing his new gig on America’s Got Talent with Extra’s Terri Seymour — which Us Weekly exclusively confirmed first — when 20-month-old Eric came toddling in!
Cowell gave Eric a carrot, and just as the little boy was about to give it to Seymour, he turned his back on her and gave the carrot back to his father, making daddy proud. “That’s my boy!” Cowell exclaimed. “When he just wants something, he’s like me. He says it over and over again.”
The reality TV personality, who’s known for his caustic criticisms, told Us exclusively on Thursday, Oct. 22, that he’d be taking over Howard Stern’s seat at the judging table on America’s Got Talent.
“We’ve been talking about it for a few years, funny enough, me and NBC,” he told Us. ‘This year… everything worked. So it was perfect.”
As for whether being a new dad has made him, well, a nicer judge?
“I’m not going to lie to people when I think they’re hopeless, I just couldn’t do that!” he said. “But no, of course I’m not going to be rude for the sake of being rude. That would be ridiculous. I’ll take it act by act.”
Cowell and girlfriend Lauren Silverman welcomed Eric in February 2014.
