Update: Suge Knight has turned himself in to the police after reportedly killing his friend Terry Carter by running him over, and then fleeing the scene.

According to ABC7 Eyewitness News, who tweeted out this picture, Knight arrived at Sheriff's West Hollywood Station in the early hours of Friday, Jan. 30, following the deadly hit-and-run.

James Blatt, representing the former Death Row Records CEO, told reporters earlier that he is confident that once police have finished their investigations, no charges will be brought.

"We are confident that once the investigation is completed, he will be totally exonerated," Blatt said. "He was in the process of being physically assaulted by two men and in an effort to escape he unfortunately hit two (other) individuals. He was in his car trying to escape."

Also talking earlier, L.A. County Sheriff Lt. John Corina gave some more details about the accident, which occurred in the Compton neighborhood of Los Angeles around 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29.

According to Corina, Carter and his friend Cle "Bone" Sloane were hit by Knight's red pickup truck. Sloane, 51, was rushed to hospital but has non-life threatening injuries.

"Looks like he drove backwards and struck the victims and drove forwards and struck them again," he said. "The people we talked to say it looked like it was an intentional act."

Original story: Suge Knight has reportedly killed a man after engaging in a fight on set of a film project in Compton, TMZ reports. According to the site, the co-founder of Death Row Records got into an altercation with two crew members on set of the project — which involved the Game, Ice Cube, and Dr. Dre — and then fled to his car, where he took off and ran over a bystander.

The bystander, who TMZ believes to be a friend of Knight’s named Terry Carter, was reportedly unable to be resuscitated by paramedics.

According to TMZ, sources says that the two crew members were the instigators and that Knight was “scared because he’s in frail health” following multiple recent gunshot wounds and almost dying from a blood clot.

The incident comes after Knight engaged in a shooting this past August at Chris Brown’s pre-VMA’s party at 1OAK Los Angeles.

In 2005, Knight was involved in a shooting at Kanye West's pre-VMA's party and was in the car when legendary rapper Tupac Shakur was fatally shot in 1996.

Sgt. John Lindsay from the Compton Sheriff's Station tells Us Weekly: “The Compton Sheriff's station is conducting an investigation of a collision involving a vehicle and two pedestrians near the intersection of Rosecrans and Central. There’s no further information as it’s an ongoing investigation."

Lindsay adds they "have no knowledge of who the driver of the vehicle" was at this time.
