Guess who’s back? Tamar Braxton left the hospital on Wednesday, Nov. 18, after a health scare that forced her to end her run on Dancing With the Stars, and, based on her surprise call-in appearance on The Real, she’s feeling a whole lot better.
“I mean, I’m just so elated,” she told her co-hosts via phone on the Thursday, Nov. 19, episode of the show. “And I just feel so blessed to come out of the hospital. Because, you know, the realization is that, you know, a lot of people don’t come out of the hospital with, you know, multiple PEs [pulmonary embolism] like I had. And you know I just feel really blessed beyond measure.”
Earlier in the day, Braxton shared a brief Instagram video of herself happily leaving the hospital.
“Look at GOD!! #so blessed,” she captioned the video. “Thank you all for your prayers. I [love] you all so much.”
On Wednesday, Nov. 11, Braxton took to Instagram to announce that she would be leaving the ABC dancing competition series due to a serious health issue.
“With a Heavy heart I regret to inform you that my season of #dwts has to come to an end along with the rest of my tour dates with @musicbykem,” she captioned a shot of herself looking forlorn in a hospital bed with dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy by her side.
The 38-year-old singer and TV personality revealed that what she thought was pneumonia turned out to be blood clots in both sides of her lungs, and that doctors had told her to stay off her feet.
“As you all know I will be the first to always encourage anyone to push through any obstacle that comes along one’s way,” she continued in the caption. “But in this case, my health is my current obstacle. …And in TRUE #tamartian form I must go about this the exact same way as I would anything else.”
Last week, Braxton was rushed to the hospital and missed part of the DWTS episode, but got back just in time to perform her final dance of the night.
Prior to Braxton’s DWTS exit, Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak also left the competition this season after suffering several mini strokes.
