There's no hard feelings between Tate Donovan and his ex-girlfriend Jennifer Aniston. Appearing on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live March 6, the 49-year-old admitted that while he's no longer "in touch" with The Break-Up actress, he's happy she found love again with screenwriter Justin Theroux.
"He's a great guy, a really good guy. Super smart," Donovan said of Aniston's 41-year-old fiance. The Deception actor added that the future spouses are a "good couple." Donovan has known Theroux for many years, as they were once both involved in Massachusetts' Williamstown Theatre Festival.
Donovan and Aniston dated from 1995 to 1998, and the actor even played the actress' love interest on the NBC sitcom Friends during that time. Aniston went on to marry Brad Pitt in 2000, while Donovan wed writer Corinne Kingsbury in 2005. Both marriages ended in divorce.
In January 2013, Donovan shared his joy for Aniston's engagement at a Television Critics Association cocktail event for NBC. "I am very happy for her," the single but "kind of dating" Donovan told Us Weekly of his 44-year-old ex. "I hope it lasts and that they have a great time. And I'm sure they will. They seem like a very happy couple."
Aniston and Theroux got engaged in New York City in August 2012. This will be the first marriage for Theroux, who was previously in a long-term relationship with stylist Heidi Bivens. The Wanderlust costars would love a ""destination wedding, kind of like eloping with a few friends," a source told Us last year. "There will be the feeling of a vacation, since that's their favorite thing to do."
