Although she spent nearly a year in prison, Teresa Giudice managed to get some “alone time" with her husband, Joe Giudice.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star opened up to Us Weekly Video about her family visits with her husband and four daughters — Gia, 15, Gabriella, 11, Milania, 10, and Audriana, 6 — at the Danbury Correctional Institution in Connecticut.
“[Joe] was only allowed to come every other weekend, and every time he came to see me, our daughters were always there,” she told Us. “The last 15 minutes, then our daughters would leave and then we would have only 15 minutes alone time. “
The couple, who were both convicted on multiple counts of bankruptcy fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud, made the most of their short time together, even under the watchful eye of prison guards.
“We definitely made out and kissed and held hands, because you are allowed to kiss in the beginning and at the end,” Teresa, 43, said. “Not as long as you want, depending who’s on, depending which officers are on.”
Teresa revealed that being in prison made their 16-year marriage “stronger” and insists that she does not blame Joe for her sentence because he “never meant to hurt me” and he took “full responsibility” for his actions. Reports surfaced in 2013 that Joe admitted to forging her signature on important documents. He is set to begin his own 41-month prison sentence in March.
