Keeping her spirits up. Teresa Giudice has had an emotional few days as she said farewell to her husband, Joe Giudice, on Wednesday, March 23, prior to his 41-month prison sentence — but luckily, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star has four strong young women to lean on.
“Teresa is focused on the girls,” a source close to the proud mom tells Us Weekly. “She misses Joe very much, but has been spending her time with the girls … Teresa has her hand full with all the girls’ activities — they are involved in so much. Teresa is focusing on her family right now, so … she is surrounded by love and support.”
The Giudices are parents to Gia, 15, Gabriella, 11, Milania, 10 and Audriana, 6.
The couple, both 43, held hands and shared a kiss and a hug outside the Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution in New Jersey on Wednesday, March 23, as Joe checked in to start his prison sentence.
He will be serving 41 months for fraud; Teresa finished up her 11-month stint in late December, also for fraud.
“Joe Giudice surrendered himself to the Federal Correctional Institution at Fort Dix today at 12 p.m. to begin serving his sentence,” the Giudice family attorney, James J. Leonard Jr., told Us in a statement at the time. “His brother, his sister and several other members of the Giudice family, as well as myself, were present when he turned himself in to the prison, including Teresa. It was obviously a very emotional day, but this is a very strong family with a tremendous support system and they will get through this, just as they did when Teresa was away.”
On Wednesday, the Giudices’ oldest daughter, Gia, shared a touching photo of herself with her dad at his going-away party at the Blu Alehouse on Monday.
“Always and forever,” she captioned the snapshot.
