That’s so retro! Raven-Symone brought a few of her old That’s So Raven pals to her new gig at The View on Friday, Aug. 14, and the former Disney costars had a blast reminiscing about the past.

Orlando Brown and Anneliese van der Pol, who played Eddie Thomas and Chelsea Daniels on the show, respectively, joined Symone and fellow View co-host Michelle Collins on the couch to talk about their experiences on the hit show, which ran from 2003 to 2007.

“The chemistry was amazing,” Brown said of the way the cast bonded. “The chemistry was like, we were just talking to family all the time.”

Asked why people reacted so strongly to the show — which was nominated for Emmys in 2005 and 2007 for Outstanding Children’s Programming — Symone, now 29, waxed nostalgic.

“I think it also comes [from], we had a really good time period and the years,” she said. “We captured stories that were touching to the people that were watching us. We talked about topics in a funny/serious way that you can relate to and when you can relate to something, then more and more people talk about it.”

Symone played the title character, Raven Baxter, a teenager with a gift for brief psychic visions of the future. She revealed on Friday, however, that the show could have played out differently — with a different cast.

“Anneliese actually didn’t get the part of Chelsea at the very beginning,” she said. When Collins asked which actress was meant to get the role, Symone kept mum.

“I remember when we were in the audition room…I was like, ‘I would rather play best friends with her than the other girl you guys picked,’” Symone said.

That’s So Raven also starred Kyle Massey as Raven’s brother, Cory, who sparked a spinoff, Cory in the House.
