Fifty shades of green! The trailer for the original Fifty Shades of Grey film has now been Muppet-ified, and it might just be better than the real thing.
In the “Fifty Shades of Muppets” video created by the people behind the Darth Blender YouTube channel, Kermit the Frog stars as mysterious businessman Christian Grey while the usually outgoing, boisterous Miss Piggy appears as the shy, submissive Anastasia Steele.
The parody is set to the sounds of the original 2015 film, with the voices of Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson and a slowed-down version of Beyoncé’s “Crazy in Love” playing in the background.
In the viral video, the puppet duo go on a dinner date, have a steamy make-out sesh and finally enter the infamous Red Room. There’s even a jar of Vaseline involved.
Kermit explains his tastes are “very singular,” and he doesn’t do traditional romance. “I exercise control in all things, Miss Steele,” he says.
The spoof, which uses scenes from six different Muppets movies, comes just a few weeks after the full trailer for the sequel, Fifty Shades Darker, dropped on September 13.
