Chaos. Two people were injured Saturday, Feb. 28, after shots rang out inside a Charlotte nightclub where T.I., Young Jeezy, and Sean "Diddy" Combs were scheduled to appear, Charlotte-Mecklenburg, North Carolina police told USA Today.
"Two people injured with gunshot wounds," a police spokesperson told the paper. "One person drove themselves to the hospital and one person was transported by ambulance. Both are non-life-threatening injuries." While the victims names were not released, police said one was a woman.
It remains unclear who the suspect was attempting to target in the shooting, and no arrests have been made.
The shooting took place at a popular local nightclub called Label. An official statement was released by the club's management team after the incident.
"Please be advised that an incident occurred this evening at Label following an event," the Label team said. "The exact circumstances concerning the incident have yet to be determined. Officials at Label are cooperating with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department concerning their investigation of this matter. Tonight's events at Label will take place as scheduled. It should be noted that there will continue to be very substantial security for all Label events during tournament weekend. And, Label remains fully committed to the safety and security of its patrons."
Raw Instagram video from the incident shows clubgoers panicking inside the venue shortly after shots rang out at around 7 p.m.
An eyewitness told USA Today that Paper Trail rapper T.I. and his collaborator Young Jeezy were on stage when the shots were fired. TMZ reported, however, that T.I. was already off the stage when the incident took place.
Diddy was scheduled to perform at 10 p.m.
