In memoriam. Tiffany Thornton took to social media on Saturday, Dec. 5, to share a touching photo of her late husband, Chris Carney, with their two children just one day after he died in a car accident.
“My life. My love. My angel,” she captioned the sweet picture, in which a shirtless Carney totes the couple’s two adorable children in his arms.
Carney and a friend, Ezekiel Blanton, were turning a sharp corner in Hot Springs, Ark., when they lost control of the car and it slammed into a tree. According to the Arkansas State Police, both men were found dead at the scene. Carney was 35.
Carney was the lead singer of The Prom Kings and was featured on the MTV show twentyfourseven. He was also the son of Hot Springs mayor Ruth Carney.
Thornton, a former Disney star, is now a radio personality on local station KLAZ 105.9.
Thornton, 29, and Carney tied the knot in 2011 at a wedding attended by her fellow Sonny with a Chance star Demi Lovato.
Lovato similarly took to social media to express her thoughts on Carney’s sudden death.
“Been trying to figure out what to say all day,” she captioned a cute snapshot of Lovato and boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama at the couple’s nuptials. “This morning I woke up to terrible news. My good friend Chris Carney has passed away. This picture is a perfect example of the love he shared with Tiff and how much fun he was to be around. …I don’t know how to put into words how heartbroken I am for Tiffany and their two baby boys. You’re already missed Chris… And Tiffany I love you so much… I’m so unbelievably sorry… There are still no words.”
The 23-year-old singer also posted a link to a Go Fund Me page to help support Thornton and her two sons.
