Tom Brady’s Deflategate Suspension Reinstated

Sounds familiar. Tom Brady's four-game Deflategate suspension was reinstated by the Second U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Monday, April 25, in the latest development between the New England Patriots superstar and the National Football League.

The court ruled on Monday that commissioner Roger Goodell does, in fact, wield the authority to suspend the superstar quarterback. Goodell issued Brady's suspension in May 2015 after a preliminary investigation revealed that the athlete was "at least generally aware" that Patriots staffers had tampered with footballs prior to the team's AFC Championship Game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Brady, 38, continually defended himself against the claims and fought the league on its suspension. Days before the Patriots' 2015 season opener in September of that year, a Manhattan federal judge tossed the four-game suspension. Unfortunately for Brady and the Patriots, that ruling is overturned on Monday.

Brady will miss his team's first four games in the 2016 season, against the Cardinals, Dolphins, Texans and Bills.

The situation is far from favorable for Brady and his family, who grappled with the aftermath of his first suspension. As Us Weekly exclusively reported last year, Brady's marriage with his wife, Gisele Bündchen, was in jeopardy during that time.

“Tom’s become very nasty and irritable and started acting out on her,” a source told Us, while another added that the model had consulted with a divorce lawyer. “Tom thinks it’s only a threat,” the second source told Us at the time. “But this is definitely a rough patch."

Though the pair eventually worked it out, Bündchen told CBS This Morning in a November 2015 interview that it was a tough time for them.

"I think we've been through a few tough times together," the Brazilian native, 35, told Charlie Rose. "I think that's when you know who are your friends and who loves you. My father always said the quality of your life depends on the quality of your relationships, and I think, no matter how challenging it was, we've always been supportive of one another. I think that's the most important thing you can have in life, you know? A support system and love."
