Tom Hardy braved the desert elements for Mad Max: Fury Road and battled below-freezing temperatures for the Oscar-winning film The Revenant. But as a source reveals exclusively in the latest issue of Us Weekly, the 38-year-old actor gets his off-screen adrenaline rush from a secret passion: ballet!
“Tom loves to sneak off by himself to the English National Ballet to unwind,” the insider says of the action star, who was nominated for an Oscar this year in the Best Supporting Actor category for The Revenant. “He’ll throw on a cap so no one notices him.”
While the London-based actor — who welcomed a baby with wife Charlotte Riley in October and is also dad to son Louis, 7, with ex-girlfriend Rachael Speed — is well-known for his love of dogs, he prefers to keep his devotion to dance a secret.
The source adds, “He’ll sit in the audience just before the show starts!” But there is at least one person in on the secret. Adds the pal, “Sometimes he's brought his mom!”
