Tori Spelling Briefly Quarantined During Hospital Visit

Tori Spelling

Poor Tori Spelling! Over the weekend, the TV star was struck ill with a fever, coughing attack, and trouble breathing that was severe enough to land her in the hospital just in time to cancel promotional events for her reality show, True Tori, which just so happens to premiere tonight. Did someone say "coincidence"?

The 41-year-old was reportedly filming the show at the time she became sick. Spelling was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where she was briefly quarantined for Ebola-like symptoms while doctors examined her and assessed the situation, according to multiple reports.

It should be noted that the odds of Spelling getting Ebola is slim to none. However, the odds of reality-TV producers seeing Tori get a bad flu and thinking, 'Hey, if she starts thinking she has ebola and rushes to the hospital, that could make a great, topical episode!' is pretty high. Oh, and did we mention that her show, True Tori premieres tonight?

Fortunately, it seems Spelling is suffering from bronchitis and a sinus infection (and possibly pneumonia), rather than something more even serious. Still, she's not out of the woods yet. Tori remains in the hospital, where she is expected to stay for the rest of the week as she continues to undergo tests. There are also reports that she will see a lung specialist to try to improve her condition.

This latest medical stay comes only six months after her last. Back in April, the 90210 alum was hospitalized for a full six days for an undisclosed cause. At the time, her husband (who had recently been accused of cheating) was right by her side.

"He seemed very stressed out and worried," a source told E! News at the time. ''He would bring food and often only left Tori to go outside to catch some air or make a phone call." It sounds like her husband continues to be as supportive as possible this time around.

Hopefully Dean won't have to handle Twitter duties for too long and Tori can go back to promoting her projects on her own. In the meantime, she certainly seems to be keeping her spirits up – though we'll have to wait and see if her show's ratings follow suit.
