Tracy Morgan is doing "better" but still remains in critical condition following the six-car accident in Cranbury, NJ that killed comic James McNair and seriously injured himself and others on June 7.
"Today was a better day," Morgan's rep told Us Weekly in a statement on Thursday, June 12. "While Tracy remains in critical, but stable, condition, he continues to show signs of improvement. His medical team remains optimistic that his recovery is progressing."
As previously reported, the 30 Rock star, 45, suffered a broken leg, broken femur, broken nose and broken ribs following a collision on the New Jersey Turnpike early Saturday morning.
The funny man's rep adds his fiancee Megan Wollover "remains by his side and is relaying the countless good wishes and prayers that his family, friends and fans have been sending their way. "
Also injured in the crash was 43-year-old stand-up comedian Ardie Fuqua, Morgan's assistant Jeff Millea, and comic Harris Stanton. James McNair, who was known as "Uncle Jimmy Mack," was pronounced dead at the scene at 63 years old.
"In addition, Jeff's wife asked us to pass along that Jeff has also shown much improvement over the past few days," Morgan's rep added. "She is very thankful for the love and support she and their family continue to receive."
The driver of the truck that plowed into the limo bus carrying Morgan and the others, Kevin Roper, pleaded not guilty to the charges against him in court on Wednesday, June 11.
Roper was charged with vehicular homicide and assault by auto. According to NBC News, the Walmart truck driver, who was reportedly awake more than 24 hours at the time of the accident, did not speak during the arraignment and was released on $50,000 bail.
