Tracy Morgan is “Still Struggling” Following Car Accident Injuries, But “Fighting to Get Better”

Tracy Morgan is on the mend, but is nowhere near the Tracy Morgan he was prior to surviving the six-car accident that left him critically injured and one other dead this past June, his lawyer Benedict Morelli said on Tuesday, Nov. 18. According to NJ.com, the comedian's attorney said he's "still struggling" but "fighting" to get better.

"Mr. Morgan is a fighter," Morelli told reporters outside the federal courthouse in Trenton after meeting with Walmart's attorneys to set up future hearings. "He's fighting to get better. If there's a chance to be back to the Tracy Morgan he once was, he is going to try to do that. We just don't know. But is he doing much better? He's doing better," the 30 Rock star's lawyer said.

Morgan was placed in critical condition five months ago after a Walmart driver slammed into the actor's limo, sending him to the hospital with a broken leg, broken femur, broken nose, and broken ribs, and killed fellow passenger and comedy writer James McNair.

As previously reported Morgan is suing Walmart, claiming "Walmart was careless and negligent in the ownership and operation of its motor vehicle, which caused Mr. Morgan to suffer severe personal injuries." Walmart filed a countersuit faulting Morgan for not wearing a seatbelt and claimed the injuries happened "by failure to wear an appropriate available seat belt restraint device."

A spokesperson for Walmart previously told Us Weekly that "the company continues to stand willing to work with Mr. Morgan and the other plaintiffs to resolve this matter."
