She's going to be missed! Twitter paid tribute to Grey's Anatomy star Sara Ramirez on Thursday, May 19, as her final episode of the show aired and her character, Dr. Callie Torres, made her exit.
Leading the tributes was Ramirez's costar Ellen Pompeo, who thanked the star for her 10-year stint on the ABC medical drama.
"@SaraRamirez portrayal of Callie Torres brought much comfort and understanding to people who needed it her contribution was immeasurable" she wrote.
The sentiment was pretty universal, with members of the LGBT community thanking her for her support.
"I'm going to miss Callie Torres so much," wrote one fan. "Thank you @SaraRamirez for playing an amazing woman and supporting LGBT!"
As Us Weekly reported previously, Ramirez expressed her gratitude and high emotions in a statement to Us Weekly on the same day that the show's season 12 finale aired.
"I'm deeply grateful for the last 10 years with my family at Grey's Anatomy and ABC, but for now I'm taking some welcome time off," Ramirez, 40, said. "Shonda's been so incredible to work for, and we will definitely continue our conversations! I send my love to Ellen [Pompeo], the rest of the cast and crew, and I look forward to always being a part of the Shondaland family!"
