Too cute for words! Daffodil, a disabled, two-legged chihuahua, is capturing the hearts of Facebook users far and wide with her adorable photos and videos.
The tiny female dog was found abandoned in a box in the streets of San Francisco in fall 2015, according to Daffodil’s Facebook page. A good samaritan brought her to the local Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) office.
At SPCA, staff members crafted a tiny set of prosthetic wheels for the chihuahua, who was born with only two back legs, to make it easier for her to move around.
According to the non-profit organization’s website, “a crowd of staff and volunteers gathered to watch and cheer for little Daffodil as she took her first steps strapped into her new wheels vest. She was fearless!”
Daffodil has since become an Internet sensation. On her Facebook page, Daffodil on Wheels, there are photos and videos of the teeny pup climbing over rocks and powering her way down the stairs. Her prosthetic wheels even have a set of lights on the front to help guide the way.
