On the run! Step aside, Bonnie and Clyde, today's most infamous fugitive couple is none other than a pair of llamas.
Social media users were captivated on Thursday, Feb. 26, by the escape of two llamas in Sun City, Ariz. A larger white llama and a smaller black llama went on the run, stopping traffic as they crossed a large highway.
The rogue animals then inspired a viral video worthy of the best police chases, running and darting in and out of traffic as they were chased by various locals with questionable strategies to detain them. The livestream of the chase quickly took off on Twitter as viewers across the nation tuned in to see if the llamas were able to escape for good.
The black and white llamas stayed together for much of the chase, taking brief moments apart as they ran from their pursuers. The black llama was caught first and detained while its pal ran free for a little while longer.
In a scene out of an old Western movie, a local finally lassoed the white llama and brought it into custody. At the time of the chase, there was no information as to the llamas' origin. Check out some tweets on the matter below!
