The High School Musical actress shared a quote that read, “I wish heaven had visiting hours.” She captioned the image, “If only…”

Greg Hudgens passed away at the age of 65 on Saturday, January 30, after battling stage IV cancer.

“I am so sad to say that last night my daddy, Greg passed away from stage 4 cancer,” Hudgens, 27, tweeted on Sunday, January 31. “Thank you to everyone who kept him in your prayers.”

Later that night, she inspired millions of viewers with her breathtaking performance as Rizzo in Grease: Live. She tweeted, “Tonight, I do the show in his honor,” shortly before the live production aired. Celebs and fans later took to Twitter to hail her performance.

“It was incredibly hard for her,” a source told Us Weekly, “but she’s a true entertainer, so it was on with the show.”
