So much school spirit! The Victoria’s Secret PINK Campus Showdown Back to School Event is returning to Virginia Tech this year, the company announced on Tuesday, October 11.
The over-the-top annual bash will be taking over the campus’ Drillfield area on Tuesday, October 18, for a special musical performance by Diplo, games, giveaways of the brand’s cutest gear and more.
The Blacksburg, Virginia, university beat out several other schools, including University of Texas at San Antonio, West Virginia University and University of North Florida, in a series of social media contests, which involved following and liking photos on their school’s own PINK Instagram and Snapchat accounts. In the final round, Virginia Tech got the most views (169,000!) in 24 hours on their Campus Showdown Instagram video and was declared the winner!
“WE WON PINK CAMPUS SHOWDOWN!!!! Way to show ‘em what the Hokie Nation can do! We love you all!” the school’s campus reps posted on the Virginia Tech Instagram page.
In previous years, Victoria’s Secret PINK has brought Zedd, Kid Cudi, Drake, Iggy Azalea and Girl Talk to colleges around the country. Back in 2012, Virginia Tech previously won the competition, which featured a performance by Gym Class Heroes and appearances by VS models Elsa Hosk and Jessica Hart.
