Bon voyage Barbara Walters! On Thursday, May 15, all 11 former and current co-hosts of The View reunited to celebrate the show's creator, Walters, who is retiring this week after five decades in the business.
Everyone from Meredith Vieira, Whoopi Goldberg, Jenny McCarthy, Sherri Shepherd, Star Jones, Debbie Matenopoulos, Joy Behar, Lisa Ling, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Rosie O'Donnell shared their favorite memories with the 84-year-old.
Walters caught up with each of the ladies and exclaimed, "I love you all!" to the women mid-way through the show.
The women, in turn, reminisced about their time with the legendary journalist. "The best advice you always gave me, Barbara, is don't neglect your personal life," said Ling, who is now mom to a 1-year-old daughter. "I will always be grateful for you."
O'Donnell, meanwhile, revealed what she misses the most about being on the show, joking, "Fighting with the skinny one here"—a reference to Hasselbeck, with whom she clashed repeatedly.
As for Hasselbeck, Walters told her she means "a great deal" to her. Hasselbeck quipped, "That's because I'm your favorite!" Walters then went on to accidentally mix up the author's son's name.
Walters, who is the last remaining co-host of the original five women who helped assemble The View, revealed to Us Weekly at A Celebration of Barbara Walters on May 14 in New York City now she "can't wait to sleep late" once she retires.
"I can’t wait to have unstructured time," she added, "to have lunch with the girlfriends, to go to a matinée if I feel like it, just to have that kind of freedom. But some things I’ll miss! I will still, however, be executive producer of The View so you won’t see the last of me."
