Wesley Snipes is unlikely to have a very happy holiday.
The Blade trilogy actor, 48, entered McKean Federal Correctional Institute in Lewis Run, Pennsylvania shortly before noon Thursday to begin his three-year sentence for failing to file his taxes, ABC News reports.
After being convicted in April 2008 of three misdemeanor counts of willful failure to file income taxes, he spent two years unsuccessfully trying to appeal.
During a recent interview with CNN's Larry King Live, the star admitted he was anxious about serving time.
"I think any man would be nervous," Snipes, who has four children with wife Nikki Park and another son from a previous marriage, said. "Given the length of time that they are suggesting that I be away from my family, away from my profession, away from my ability to provide for my family and for those who have depended upon me to contribute to society...I think anyone would be nervous about that."
