Kim's Fairytale Divorce: A Kardashian Event?
Kris Humphries told Us Weekly he was "devastated" to learn that Kim Kardashian filed for divorce on Monday after 72 days of marriage.
The reality star's best friend Brittny Gastineau, who caught the bouquet at Kardashian's lavish August wedding, said she was "very sad" about the split.
"I feel bad for any couple that tries to make it," Gastineau told Us. "Kim has been my best friend for years and I know she is so strong. I have faith in her."
Another longtime family friend, E!'s Heather MacDonald, told Us that Humphries, 26, isn't exactly the nicest guy. "I actually thought [Kim] would stay married for like a year to save face," she told Us. "I actually had respect for her that she did it on the [72nd] day [of marriage]. I do think she likes to be in love, and I do think she loved him the day they married. Being at the wedding, they seemed like a couple totally into each other. But they were only dating for six months before that."
Kardashian, who partied sans hubby at Midori Green Halloween bash at LAVO in NYC on Saturday, told Us at the time that she and Humphries just needed "more time" together. (He was in Minnesota at the time.) "It's always tough when you're apart. But we do what we can to try and spend time together and make that time for each other."
But two days after that solo appearance, the 31-year-old reality star said she'd "decided to end my marriage" and filed for divorce. "I had hoped this marriage was forever but sometimes things don't work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best," she told Us in a statement.
Humphries, however, told a different story about their relationship. "I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce," he said in a statement. "I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it work… I'm committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents."
