Queen Elizabeth II’s Granddaughter Zara Tindall Pregnant, Expecting Second Child With Husband Mike Tindall

A spokesperson announced the happy news on Wednesday, November 30, and said the baby is due in late spring, according to the BBC. The baby, who will not hold a royal title, will be the sixth great-grandchild for Queen Elizabeth.

“The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh and members of the Royal Family are delighted with the news,” a Buckingham Palace spokesman said in a statement.

Zara, 35, is a pro equestrian, who became the first royal to win an Olympic medal when she won silver at the London Games in 2012. However, she narrowly missed out on the 2016 Rio Olympics.

The expectant mom is the daughter of Princess Royal Anne and her first husband, Captain Mark Phillips. She is a cousin to Prince William and Prince Harry, and her child will be a second cousin to William and Duchess Kate’s two kids, Prince George, 3, and Princess Charlotte, 18 months.

Zara and Mike, 38, a former rugby player, married in July 2011. They are also parents of a 2-year-old daughter, Mia Grace.
