Some of your comments are so ruthless...this was a person who had a family and a break-up from that family. If you studied his natural behaviors during interviews you would see that he had anxiety based issues like everyone else. All of his performances were outstanding including "Brokeback Mountain", which wasnâ??t a "Gay" movie by far; the â??Birdcageâ?? is a â??Gayâ?? movie, if you must put labels on things. "Brokeback Mountain" was a tragic love story of two people who just wanted to be together but couldnâ??t because of the age of unacceptance, which still occurs today. For example, Tyler Clementi just wanted his own privacy but his intimate moments with his partner was aired, which caused him to commit suicide as the two people who pushed him to jump off the bridge will only serve 5 years at most for invasion of his privacy and he too, another talented person, great at playing the violin, will never see another day because of the cruelty of others' twisted pleasures that are not amusing. Itâ??s hard enough to find true love in the heterosexual community so itâ??s really a beautiful thing when people can just find other people to love who will love them back just the same. Like Tyler, Heath wanted privacy in his own life and most likely an escape from the over-whelming pressures he put on himself as an actor, which made him great but he was probably his own worst critic as he always appeared modest, grounded, and humble. The complications of his personal life that was torn apart had taken a toll on him as well. How do you feel after a break-up from the ones you love? Think about it... You canâ??t sleep, concentrate, or even want to eat, no less be bothered by media in your face and all he wanted to do was try to loss himself in a good nightâ??s rest, get a massage, as he threw himself back into his work continuously without rest from the last demanding character as the Joker (Which was AWESOME) to the next project. All this, without adequate rest and centralizing himself into his new lifestyle that didnâ??t include his Ex and Baby on an everyday basis as beforeâ?¦He needed time to transition from everything. Everyone has their ups and downs...people today need to be more understanding and compassionate and not so judgmental, especially talentless, ignorant people. You should feel sad not only for Heath Ledgerâ??s family, but for Heath too because he lost out on watching his daughter grow, as she lost out by not having him around as her father for her life, as well as seeing his own family back in Australia. Also, we, his fans and all his family miss him and all the great performances there were to come. He was an excellent actor in several movies but it wasnâ??t until his performance in â??Monsterâ??s Ballâ??, â??Brokeback Mountainâ??, and â??The Dark Knightâ?? that he was recognized for his efforts. â??Lords of Dogtownâ?? (Bio-Flick) and â??Candyâ?? are also very good movies as wellâ?¦again in â??Lords of Dogtownâ?? you donâ??t see Heath Ledger at all, you only see the Character he is playing and he did a wonderful job. Have some respect for both Heath Ledger and Tyler Clemnti, they are people just like you, have a good day.

'Brokeback Mountain'? lol. You know he's best known for his Joker performance in the Dark Right, don't play me with this gay agenda garbage. And yeah, Heath wasn't a 'druggie' and whoever claims he was is entirely retarded. Especially Meg. He had trouble sleeping because of the time he spent preparing for his role on The Dark Knight so kept taking sleeping pills. Before you know it, he's 20 pills over prescription and six feet under. The only thing Heath Ledger is guilty of is being a seriously determined man...and look at the movie we got out of it. So please, shut up, all of you.

Brokeback Mountain was brilliant, tragic & heart-wrenching. I sobbed and was haunted by Ledger's touching performance. Such a loss.

  • March 10, 2010 - 11:08am MB7

Sigh again drugs...it's a shame really...he was an absolutely brilliant actor...whoa..in Dark Knight, I never even knew Batman existed in that movie..Ok Brokeback was disturbing, but taking nothing away from his acting... Not bad to look at either...

  • March 10, 2010 - 10:54am Meg

Heathfan, he wasn't "so ill: - he OD'd. If accidental - oh well. That doesn't mean it was like the first time. He died of an OVERDOSE. He was a DRUGGIE! Sympathy for his family but none for him. Sorry.

A truly awesome actor gone in his prime. My prayers are with his daughter and loved ones!

You people who are so obessed with telling the world that its wrong to be gay need to be quiet. We as people dont want to see alot of things that happen infront us. People dying, being beaten, sexual harrassment, plane crashes and so on. So if someone who happens to be gay wants to kiss their significant other than so be it, noone is MAKING you look. As for Heath acting gay in a movie, nobody forced you to watch it or even hear or talk about it. I bet you didnt even watch the movie. Both he and Jake played the parts very well. Whats the difference from him playing a gay person, a nazi, a pycho who kills, etc. It's a role and thats it. He wasnt gay in real, and even if he was there is nothing wrong with that. Its ignorant people like you that make the world a tougher place to live in.
