In addition to switching out your wardrobe for fall, your hair is "dyeing" for an update too. Us Weekly got three star stylists to weigh in on the easiest mini makeovers you can try now — from a glossy new hair color to an edgy crop.

Switch Up Your Color
Sweet! A glossy caramel shade warms up fair, olive and dark complexions. (Just take a look at what it does to Olivia Palermo's skin tone above.) Plus, "the color reflects light, creating the illusion that hair is shiny," Kristen Stewart's colorist Marie Robinson tells Us. To keep the golden color from turning brassy, apply a deep conditioning treatment weekly.

Lop Off Your Locks
The cream of this season's haircut crop: a shaggy bob that works with every hair texture. To style the cut, "apply a dime-size drop of smoothing cream to hair before blow-drying," Dianna Agron's stylist Giannandrea tells Us. Use fingers to distribute light wax throughout the ends for a piece-y look.

Us recommends: Paul Mitchell Smoothing Super Skinny Balm ($21, Paul Mitchell salons) and Tigi Catwalk Session Series True Wax ($16, tigihaircare.com)

Try Face-Framing Highlights
"Brighter strands add dimension to dull locks and open up the face," says celebrity hairstylist Corey Powell, who works with Kate Hudson. A key coloring rule of thumb: choose a shade that's within three shades lighter than your hair color for the most natural look, as Ciara demonstrates above.

Work Bold, Blunt Bangs
"Thick bangs are dramatic and sassy," says Powell. Take a cue from Carrie Underwood and make sure that the fringe hangs just below brows. If you're worried that getting bangs will land you in the salon every other week for maintenance, Us Beauty Director Gwen Flamberg stresses that you can easily trim them yourself. "Using any ordinary scissor, start with small sections of hair and snip vertically. If you snip horizontally the bangs will be uneven and too blocky." Remember: you can always take away more so err on the more conservative side to avoid trimming away too much.

Us recommends: Tweezerman Hair Shears ($28, sephora.com)
