“It’s crazy. I’ve worked with Stephanie before and loved her; she was sweet to me,” the Dior Makeup brand ambassador, 19, told Glamour magazine in her September 2016 cover story. “I don’t know if she meant it in that mean way. But even so, it’s still hurtful.”

After Vanity Fair asked Seymour, 48, about the role that today’s top models play, she came under fire for her tongue-in-cheek response. “Bitches of the moment! That would be a good title for them.”

A supermodel during the ’80s and ’90s, Seymour also noted that this class is “completely different than we were. Supermodels are sort of the thing of the past. They deserve their own title. [Kendall and Gigi] are beautiful girls, and I support all of them, but they need their own title.”

Jenner clapped back in a Thursday, June 16, post on her website, addressing Seymour directly. “Gigi sent me the most recent rant and I’m disappointed. If you’re going to tell us not to be in ‘your moment,’ then don’t be in mine!” she wrote. “No one is trying to steal Stephanie Seymour’s thing, or trying to be her. I actually looked up to her. She has a daughter! I guarantee you that she didn’t imagine someone so publicly shaming her daughter when she made those comments about us being ‘bitches of the moment.’”

And Bella and Gigi’s mom, Yolanda Hadid, a successful retired model herself, had words for her peer Seymour too. “It’s sad to see some of these beautiful semiretired supermodels, who are mothers themselves now, feel the need to publicly put down someone else’s daughter,” the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum told TMZ on Sunday, June 19.

Bella echoed her mom’s sentiments in her own respective interview. “My sister and Kendall work their asses off. We’re all working hard,” she said. “You just have to let your success speak for itself … because at the end of the day, we’re making our money.”

Although Seymour’s statements rubbed her the wrong way, Bella insists there’s no bad blood. “I don’t want anybody to fail. Why would you wish that upon somebody?” she noted. “If you’re a powerful woman and you’re confident in yourself, you want other people to succeed.”
