It’s a sheer-off. Both Beyonce and Kim Kardashian flaunted their famous figures in sheer dresses at the Met Gala 2015 on Monday, May 4 — but which star rocked the nearly-naked trend best?
Kardashian donned a beaded, see-through gown by Peter Dundas for Roberto Cavalli. The E! reality star kept her hair simple and pulled back in a sleek ponytail, letting her feathered-train dress do the talking. To complete her look, North West’s mom, who walked the carpet with husband Kanye West, opted for simple diamond drop earrings.
Beyonce — who made a surprise appearance and nearly broke the Internet when she Instagrammed her look at the tail end of the red carpet — also opted to go without underwear. Queen Bey stunned in an embroidered Givenchy gown with strategically placed beading. The “Drunk In Love” singer also wore her hair in a ponytail, but chose to curl her ends, giving her look a bit of bounce as she made her way inside the event alongside husband Jay Z.
After posing for photographers, Kardashian took to Instagram to reveal the inspiration behind her dress: Cher’s 1974 Met Gala gown. “Tonight’s inspiration! Cher at the 1st ever Met Gala! I just met her and told her this photo was my inspiration for my dress tonight! She is so beautiful! So happy I met her!” the Selfish book creator wrote alongside a throwback snap of the singer.
Bey and Kardashian weren’t the only ones to bare almost all, either. Jennifer Lopez also wore a revealing red Versace gown, which showed off the sides of her perfectly toned booty.
