C. Wonder is coming back—and with a fabulous face at the helm! Just one week after Xcel Brands Inc. acquired the clothing and accessories label, which shuttered this past January, the company's new owner is ready to announce the line's creative director: Brad Goreski.
Clearly thrilled to share the news, Rachel Zoe's former assistant, 37, Instagrammed the WWD announcement on Wednesday, Aug. 5. "I am so excited to announce that I am the Creative Director for C.Wonder!! So many great things planned! I can't wait to get started on QVC in the spring!! You are going to love it!" he wrote.
As WWD reported, Goreski—who went on to become a celeb stylist for the likes of Jessica Alba and Minka Kelly—will serve as the colorful, monogram-happy brand's on-air personality come spring 2016, when the line re-launches on QVC. At the moment, there are no plans to re-open brick-and-mortar shops.
The launch will be quite different from C. Wonder's first round at bat. When Christopher Burch launched the line four years ago, his ex-wife, designer Tory Burch, sued him, claiming that Wonder was too aesthetically similar to her own line. Nevertheless, the two settled, and Christopher went on to open C. Wonder stores across the U.S.—until he closed them all earlier this year.
At the time of Goreski's appointment, Burch told WWD, "The brand is in the best hands with Xcel, and we know they will be incredible stewards of our commitment to delight and surprise our customers at every turn."
