Brad Pitt Models Long, Scraggly Hair for New York Magazine

Angie's man is growing out his locks -- and he looks like a skater boy!

In a stark new photoshoot for New York magazine, a broody-looking Brad Pitt shows off long, scraggly hair as he looks off into the distance.

Pitt, 47, tells the magazine about his long and winding quest to get the flick Moneyball -- out this fall -- made.

Angelina Jolie's longtime partner signed on to star in the project back in 2007 and "became obsessed," he admits. "I saw it as a story about justice," he says of the true-life baseball flick. "How is a team with a $40 million payroll going to compete with a team with a $140 million payroll and another $100 million in reserves? Any talent they grow is going to get poached by the rich teams. That became really interesting to me."

Even when his friend, acclaimed director Steven Soderbergh, left the film project after much internal drama, Pitt remained dogged about the film. "I just couldn't let it go...I don't mind the struggle as long as the work amounts to something in the end."

Pitt also has high praise for his costar Jonah Hill. "Jonah's a revelation in this thing-—he's a study in reserve...really strong work."
