Busy Philipps was so on-theme for a visit to the Humane Society of New York on Thursday, June 30. The Gift actress, 37, found a stylish way to show love for her furry friends.
Philipps attended the Purina Cat Chow Nutrition to Build Better Lives Program celebration in a Gucci cat-embroidered cotton jersey T-shirt. The $775 top features a multicolor-eyed kitty with pert ears and a stylish, blue neck bandana and is printed with the French phrase “L’Aveugle par Amour,” or “Blind for Love.” It was an appropriate choice as the Nutrition to Build Better Lives program promises up to 5 million meals for cats in need for every bag of Purina Cat Chow purchased in July. Philipps tucked her top into a patchwork denim midi skirt and wore black and white striped peep-toe platform Loeffler Randall sandals.
“How cute is this shirt/jean skirt combo? Dying,” the Cougar Town star captioned a June 29 Instagram. She also thanked her stylists Karla Welch and Erica Cloud for their help.
In 2013, the mom to Birdie and Cricket with husband Marc Silverstein faced public scrutiny for naming her children after animals and defended her decision on Twitter.
“It’s weird people think my kids will be in therapy because of their names. Guys, my kids will be therapy for lots of reasons, I’m sure,” she said.
Philipps continued the conversation on the Today show in 2014. “Since I grew up with a nickname — Busy being short for Elizabeth — when my husband and I started to have our babies, we decided that if we wanted to call our kids something, we would just name them that thing that we wanted to call them,” she explained.
